Anne Dwyer Resident Artist
Anne was taught watercolours by Mollie McCloskey
in 1997 and has gained knowledge of oils from workshops and weekend
schools taught by various
established artists, including Joseph Zbuvic and Hermann Pekel. She
has been exhibiting and selling paintings for 9 years. Formerly known
as Anne Payne, she was an exhibiting potter for 23 years and owner
of Studio 2 pottery and Gallery, Figtree from 1974 to 1983.
In 1982
she became a pottery teacher at Dapto TAFE. In 1993 she married John Dwyer and moved to Thirroul. Deciding to quit pottery,
she started painting in 1997. She has held 2 solo exhibitions and participated
in many group art exhibitions. She is a member of Wollongong Traditional
Arts Society and Illawarra Art Society.
Anne Dwyer
Born in England in 1938, Anne migrated to Australia in 1965. Her earlier
years in Australia were spent potting under the name Anne Payne.
She is a member of Wollongong Traditional Art’s
Society and as a Illawarra Art Society member, Anne has been painting
for 9 years. Working in oils, watercolours
and pastels, she has shown and sold paintings in many exhibitions in
the Illawarra. Anne’s paintings can be viewed at the following
venues:-
“Art in the Park”, a monthly outdoor exhibition, held at Belmore
Basin, Wollongong Harbour, on the 3rd Sunday from 10am to 5pm, Helensburgh
Workmen’s Club, Walker Street Helensburgh. (In the restaurant).
