An Australian television writer will receive $25,000 to develop a new screen project under a joint initiative announced between the Australian Writers Foundation (AWF) and FOXTEL. Volunteer Initiated Museum grants are part of the Museums & Galleries NSW Volunteer Initiated Museum (VIM) Grant Program. This grant helps established volunteer-managed museums to carry out projects up to $5000 with mid to long term outcomes with the help of an appropriate museum and/or arts consultant.

Small Grants Program, Cultural Services, Wollongong City Council, provides assistance to artists and supports cultural development in the City of Wollongong.

 

Competitions
Applications for the 2007 Realise Your Dream awards are now open. The prizes offer Australians aged 21-28 with skills in the creative industries a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with British leaders in their respective fields. Each prize includes a tailor-made work experience program in the UK, a return flight and $8000 to cover living expenses while you are there. This opportunity is open to Australians working in: industrial and object design, design, fashion, moving image, advertising, words, production, direction, architecture and music.

The Realise Your Dream application process has two key steps as follows: 1. Applicants must complete the online registration form 2. Applicants must produce a three-minute DVD that explains their dream and how a short professional trip to the UK will help achieve it. Both requirements must be completed by Tuesday 31st July 2007.

This scholarship is available to Australian artists aged between 20 – 30 and comprises of $25,000 and a three month residency at Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris.

Designed to focus on the integration of the visual arts into the everyday city environment. Sydney Life is an exhibition of large scale photographic works displayed along the central walkway of Hyde Park North.

The aim is to provide public recognition and ongoing career benefits to artists at all stages of their careers. The prize, which is comprised of $5,000 cash plus a $5,000 investment in the AMP Capital Sustainable Share Fund, provided by sponsors AMP Capital Investors, will be awarded for the most outstanding work in the show.
