Order of Nature is a new label and production service based in Wollongong, specialising in experimental beats, hip hop, turntablism, electro, industrial noise, ambient, avant rock, jazz, loop based work, improvisation, punk and field recordings.

We aim to nourish audiences with new and exciting events and sounds.

We also offer a range of services, including:

Since setting up in 1994, we have been committed to the local hip-hop and electronic scene.

The release of the AROGONAUTS album in 2002 was the first ever Wollongong produced hip hop electronic compilation. It features some of the freshest new producers on the South Coast.

Absorb, Sean Sheap, Slap 618, DJ Fury and others pooled their knowledge and love for hip hop to produce one of the best Wollongong releases in 2002.

ABSORB’S first release, Travel Brochure, used live computer recordings, samples from Australian films and sound experimentation. ABSORB demonstrates he has the skills as an MC and hip hop producer.

ABSORB’s second release EP, Outside Your Eyes, takes listeners to new moods with a tight, laid back approach. Styling saw ABSORB venture into new territory, mixing Neil Young with some of ABSORB’S familiar tricks, leaving the listener guessing on each snare drop and kick drum. Samplers versus synths, a conspiracy theory and MC Enroe corrupt each other for a great EP.

The label’s first release for 2004, order of nature, consists of a six track /cd-rom compilation of artists such as ABSORB, SEAN SHEAP, ASYET, GRIPE 1, and EMPTY SEDNA (VB-12). An exciting journey through sound, film, distortion, beats and groove.

Recorded live at an improvised jam session, Empty Sedna VB follows instincts, tempo and visuals to deliver an adventure of colour, beats and birth. An awesome DVD of experimentation and excellent beats, with a must see ultrasound visual.

Awards
Performing as Absorb, Mirko Sossai is a winner in the Jaxtner Artist Awards 2005 for Bushfire Grudge in the category of Dance/Electronic/Hip hop/R & B/Rap.
