The 2005 Wollongong Central Arttrail is turning Wollongong City Centre into a showcase of local art and culture. Extending from Wollongong Railway Station to the shoreline, taking in Crown Street along the way, it provides the opportunity for local established and emerging artists, some of whom have never exhibited before, to have their work displayed in the shop fronts of local businesses, raising the profile of local art and creating connections between the artists and business communities.
The theme for this year's Wollongong Central Arttrail is reScape, which will require artists to create works based on the impact of change on the city, their environment or themselves.
This year there are trail tours taking in Globe Lane, Crown Street and specially designed art 'Hot Spots' in Wollongong Central.
